• Assessment Practitioner Group (APG)
  • Sheffield Hallam University have very kindly agreed to host us on 7 February in their Cantor Building which is located just across the road from the train station. We will aim to start at 1030 (with coffees/teas from 10am) and finish by 1515 at the latest. I will send further details on the venue and agenda closer to the time but thought it would be helpful to let you know this side of the break so you can start to plan travel arrangements. I have opened the booking on the ARC website. You will need to be a member organisation and be one of your institution’s two official APG group members to be able to book on to this event. We are happy for members to send alternates but please either note this on the booking or drop me a line to let me know. If you have any issues booking please let me know. The agenda is still being drafted but so far I’m delighted that we have confirmed Deborah Johnston, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic Framework) at London South Bank as one of our speakers on Assessment Competencies and the EHRC Note of Learning and we are hoping to run a couple of interactive sessions on choice in assessments and reflections following Queen’s University Belfast’s excellent presentation on Risk-based approaches to External Examining at our last meeting. We will also have an update on The Future of Exams Boards QAA collaborative project, plus more to be confirmed ! We hope to see as many of you there as possible. If you are able to join us, please could you try and book on by mid-January so that we have a sense of numbers and dietary requirements for catering.
